Notable Changes from the Previous Year


The 2023 Kia Niro comes with a bold and redesigned front fascia. The new design includes futuristic details, hexagonal 3D patterns, and a heartbeat line combined with a Tiger Nose signature. The interior design is rather minimalistic but still showcases superb technology, including a 10.25-inch supervision cluster, now standard for the whole lineup.

Performance Specs


All models have a 64.8kWh battery, a permanent magnet synchronous motor, an electronic parking brake, a remote start parking assist, and a battery heating system.

The engine delivers 188 lb-ft of torque capacity and 201 hp. Regarding energy efficiency, this lineup makes 1.9 L / 100km in urban areas and 2.3 L / 100km on highways. The battery range is estimated at 407 km for all models, while charging times can range from 43 minutes to 57 hours.

Design Elements


The 2023 Kia Niro was redesigned to make it look more futuristic. It includes 17-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting, body-coloured side view mirrors with signal repeaters, solar glass, and rear privacy tint glass. The flagship model has exclusive features, including LED fog lights and headlights, a sunroof, and split-chrome door handles.

This is a subcompact vehicle, meaning it doesn’t look big outside. But it doesn’t sacrifice interior space or comfort. There are three upholstery options available: cloth, cloth with synthetic leather, or synthetic leather. Standard features include air conditioning, foldable rear seats, Bluetooth, and heated front seats.

The Premium+ and Limited trims come with a heated steering wheel covered with synthetic leather. The Limited trim includes additional exclusive features, including air-cooled front seats, paddle shifters, deluxe pedals, a front safety window, and heated rear seats.

Technology and Safety Features


All models are packed with some of the best luxury tech and safety features available. Standard features include a 10.25-inch multimedia interface, SiriusXM satellite radio, Kia Connect, mobile compatibility, and a 12V power outlet. Kia went the extra mile with the Limited trim, as it is equipped with a Harman Kardon premium audio system, electro-chromatic rearview mirrors, and the HomeLink system.

All trims have seven airbags, including front, rear, and side curtain airbags. They also have electronic stability control, hill assist control, immobilizer, lane-keep and lane-follow assistants, and a blindspot collision avoidance system. On the Limited trim, there are rain-sensing wipers, rear parking collision avoidance assist, and an advanced highway driving assist, as well.
