Notable Changes from the Previous Year

The 2024 Seltos received a host of interior and exterior upgrades. Wheels, grilles, and lighting elements have been updated to more modern looks, and the infotainment system has also been upgraded with two big screens and a new rotary controller, replacing the shift lever. It also has a new optional engine: a 1.6L turbo four-cylinder powertrain with more horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The 2024 Sportage received only minor updates after being completely remodelled last year. The new version has LED projector headlights and airbags for the second row of seats. Also, the SX AWD is no longer part of the lineup.

Performance Specs

Performance Specs

The Seltos has two engines available: a 2.0L Nu Atkinson for models up to the EX Premium and a 1.6L GDI four-cylinder engine for the SX and X-Line. The Nu Atkinson engine delivers 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque capacity, while the 1.6L GDI delivers 195 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. Fuel efficiency estimates are the same for both, at 8.8 L/100 km in the city and 7.5 L/100 km on highways.

The Sportage has the same powertrain for all models: a 2.5L four-cylinder engine capable of 187 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. However, fuel efficiency figures differ across models, as the entry-level trim get 9.3 L/100 km in the city and 7.4 L/100 km on highways, while upper models deliver 10.4 L/100 km and 7.4 L/100 km, respectively.

Both lineups have standard heated front seats, split-folding rear seats, and air conditioning. Base models come with cloth upholstery, but different designs of leather seats are available for other models. All Seltos models have leather-wrapped steering wheels, while only the EX Premium and X-Line LImited trims of the Sportage have this feature.

All models have LED exterior lights, but only the Seltos has chrome grilles.

Technology and Safety Features

Both models have a 4.2-inch TFT cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen display for base models. Sportage’s mid-tier and upper trims have a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, compared to a 10.25-inch touchscreen display in Seltos models. Additionally, the X-Line Limited has a massive 12.3-inch LCD TFT instrument cluster.

While the Seltos comes with six airbags, Sportage models have eight. Electronic stability control, hill start assist, and engine immobilizers are standard across the lineup.
